2023 Huntsville Baseball Coaching Staff
Luke Lamm - Varsity Head Coach
Coach Lamm enters his fifth season as Head Coach at HHS after leading the Panthers to two Area Championships (2019 /2022). Lamm was the head coach at Decatur for four seasons. In Coach Lamm’s second season (2016) he led the Decatur Red Raiders to a school record for wins in a season, 35 (35-11). Prior to coaching at Decatur, Coach Lamm was the pitching coach at Sparkman High School, advancing to the 7A finals in 2014. Coach Lamm attended Loretto High School in Loretto, TN, where his father Gary was the head baseball coach for 24 years. Coach Lamm attended Columbia State Community College where he played two full seasons before going to Martin Methodist where he earned First Team All-Conference (pitcher) his senior year and received his BS in Education. Coach Lamm is married to the former Kristen Wengert of Huntsville, AL. They have a two sons, Nolan (10) and Layton (4) and daughter, Audrey (8).
Trey Moody - Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Moody graduated from Huntsville High School in 2001, where he played baseball, basketball, and football for the Panthers. After graduation from Huntsville High, Trey earned a baseball scholarship to the University of Alabama. He then transferred to Samford University, where he finished his baseball career, and education. Trey received a degree in History from Samford University in 2006. Trey moved back to Huntsville in 2012, and now resides in the Blossomwood area with his wife Ashley, and their four children, Tyce (17), Skye Marie (15), Jake (10), and Tess (6).
Jacob White - Junior Varsity Head Coach
Coach White is a native of Florence, Alabama where he attended the University of North Alabama. He graduated with a degree in Physical Education. He coached for four years at Shoals Christian School as an assistant football and baseball coach. At Shoals Christian, he coached wide receivers and defensive secondary in football and pitchers in baseball. Coach White has been a teacher / coach at Huntsville High School the past three years.
Jody Slay - 9th Grade Head Coach
Coach Slay is a native of Historic Selma, AL. A graduate student athlete of Alabama A&M University, he also obtained his Masters Degree from Adelphi University. He is entering his first year as a Huntsville High School teacher and assistant baseball coach. Coach Slay has been a native of Huntsville, AL for 20 years and now resides in the Meridianville area with his wife Carlquista, and their 2 children Camiah (15) and Jaliyah (10).
