JV Post-Season Tournament April 12th
Monday
April 3rd - Game 3: The Panthers
got off to a rough start when a couple of early errors let Grissom score their first two batters. Taylor
Knight pitched a great game and was aided in the field with four assists and two putouts by Jordan Cole at catcher, three
assists and two putouts by Chris McCain at short, a putout by Taylor Propst at third, an assist and five putouts by Corey
Scheppe at first, an assist and a putout by Adam Beasley at second, two putouts by Brantley Johnson in centerfield and a putout
by Dylan Schilabro in right field. Drew Dunaway came to the mound in relief in the 7th inning to finish
out the game. The Tigers had several great hits and it was too much for the Panthers. A
great triple by Carson Finnell who was batted in by Nic Light accounted for the Panthers only run. Singles
by Chris McCain and Brantley Johnson were the only other Panther hits. The final score was 1-9.
It’s hard to believe the season is over. We
are all very proud of our JV Panther baseball team!

Patriots the edge.

putouts from McCain(2) at short and Scheppe(13) at first coming on assists from McCain(4), Adam Beasley(2), Jacob Pyles(3),
and Jordan Cole behind the plate. Many of the Panther runs were scored on Trojan errors, but there were

Solid defense also contributed to the win, including a 4-6-3 (Beasley, McCain, Scheppe) double play. The second game was a little more exciting.
The Senators jumped out to a two run lead in the top of the first. The Panthers answered with their
own two runs in the bottom when back to back doubles by Taylor Propst and Brantley Johnson scored Chris McCain, who’d
reached on an error, and Propst. The Panthers took a one run lead in the second with another set of back
to back doubles by Jacob Pyles and Nic Light. In the top of the 5th, the Senators scored two to get back

allowed! He was backed up by some great defense: putouts from Brantley Johnson in centerfield, Corey Scheppe(10)
at first, Chris McCain(4) at short, Adam Beasley(2) at second, and Nic Light(2) in left; assists from Taylor Propst(3) at
third, McCain, Beasley(5), and Jordan Cole(3) behind the plate. On the offensive side, 7 singles got the
job done. Those came from the bats of McCain, Beasley, Josh Faint, Johnson(2), and Scheppe.

Propst, McCain, Johnson, and Dunaway assisted putouts from Beasley(3), Johnson(2), and Scheppe. No extra
base hits for the second game either. Singles from McCain, Beasley, Propst, Faint(2), Johnson, and Dunaway
just weren’t enough to get it done in this one. Panthers fall 5-10. March 26th - JV Panthers lose to Buckhorn

were exciting games with lots of great hits, great pitching and smooth defense. The Panthers started
off strong. Jacob Pyles pitched a complete game allowing only two hits. He was helped
with double-play in the first inning and a pickoff in the 4th resulting in his facing only 3 batters each inning.
Great substitution by Coach Futch allowed ten different batters to get hits. We saw singles from
Chris McCain(2), Andrew Dieterich, Pyles, Nic Light, and Jordan Cole; doubles from Taylor Propst, Carson Finnell, Josh Faint,

scored RBIs. |
Feb 24th - The JV Panthers win a double header from Hartselle tonight;
winning the first game 10-5 and the second game 6-3. It was bitter cold and the umpires were calling lots of strikes
and outs, but the boys had some terrific hits and key plays to bring them two victories. Pitchers for the first game were Brantley
Johnson, Alec Voytko, and Mitch Kavanaugh. At the end of 4 innings, the Panthers were down 1-0, but the
bats heated up despite the wind chill and by the end of the game the Panthers won big. Six Panthers singles
from Chris McCain, Taylor Propst, Brantley Johnson, Jacob Pyles(2), Corey Scheppe, Nic Light, and Carson Finnell and a triple
from McCain put the Panthers on top. RBIs were scored by McCain(2), Pyles(2), Jordan Cole, and Finnell.
On the defensive side Johnson, Propst, Beasley, and McCain(2) had assists, Scheppe(4), Propst, Beasley(3), and McCain
scored putouts.
Andrew Dieterich pitched the entire second game,
allowing Hartselle only 3 runs. The Panthers scored their 6 runs on 5 hits: singles from McCain, Propst,
Faint(2) and Dylan Scilabro. Propst, Faint and Scheppe recorded RBIs. Our defense looked
good; despite the cold hands the boys caught and threw pretty well. David Connor, McCain, Scheppe, and
Propst recorded assists and Dieterich, Scheppe(5), Propst, and Taylor Knight made the putouts.
